Sometimes you need to take the time to appreciate the little things in life. When your dreams are big, the journey to accomplish them can be overwhelming and exhausting. Its nice to stop and celebrate the tiny victories you achieve each day.
Some little things I am celebrating this week:
- Going to a party and NOT CHEATING on my diet!!! I packed my dinner and brought it with me and pounded seltzer all night. I was surrounded by gym friends who were supportive and made it easy to stay on track.
- I increased my weights on all of my workouts this week. Sometimes going from 12# to 15# dumbells is a big jump when you’re little!
- I lost 5 lbs in the first two weeks of prep, going from 118 to 113. I probably wont lose much more weight, now it is about toning up those legs!
I am now 3 weeks into competition prep and still cruising along. I am happy with my progress so far, and I think I am on track to be ready by July. The diet has been fine, meal prep is still tremendous, but it is getting easier. I have been getting hungry more often, but I am staying focused on my goals and drinking water or taking a walk to curb cravings.
Workout intensity levels have gone up! My coach recommended adding a pre-workout and creatine to my diet, but I am still doing my research before I add them in. I am very sensitive to caffeine, so I am hesitant to add a pre-workout, but sometimes I need the extra energy after a long day at work. Any recommendations/advice on those??
Have a great week, don’t forget to celebrate the little things!
